About Our Landscaping Company in Crawley, West Sussex

Costiff’s Gardeners Ltd are a family-run grounds maintenance, landscaping and garden maintenance company that have been operating in the South of England for over twenty years. Founded by Nigel Costiff in 1988, we set up shop in Crawley, West Sussex – situated close by many busy locales including East Grinstead and Horsham.

To begin with, we focused almost solely on domestic garden maintenance. As the company grew, we began to take on local commercial grounds maintenance contracts and carry out hard landscaping projects. By this point we had become a recognised company in and around Crawley, East Grinstead and the wider West Sussex and Surrey areas.

In the summer of 1995, employee Mark Costiff became a partner in the business and looked for ways to help it expand further. This lead to three new team members being hired to the company, including Mrs Jayne Costiff, Mark’s wife. Jayne assumed the role of company secretary, taking charge of all clerical aspects of the business from first contact with prospective clients, all the way through to accounts and generating new business. Also joining the company were two qualified landscape gardeners who helped shoulder our heavy workload.

The next major step for Costiff’s Gardeners was to branch out and cover more ground. We achieved this by setting up an office in the South London area, which proved a big success. The company is now structured in two halves, with Nigel Costiff managing the London branch and Mark Costiff managing the Crawley office. Recently we have been focusing on securing new grounds maintenance contracts, as this is an area of the business that is proving increasingly popular among commercial and industrial clients.

Costiff’s Gardeners are now entering their twenty first year of trading, and in those years we have built a reputation as a quality, trustworthy landscaping, grounds maintenance and garden maintenance company with a knack for quality patios. We look forward to further cementing this reputation over the coming years.
